arise, oh people, let us hear your voices... your voices of freedom.

busy day

Yesterday we went to pick up food supplies at the camp again while my mother visited the doctor. Just as we had hoped, she was able to get the cast off and her ankle is back to normal. Well, there's a strange shape to the area, but she can walk again, which is the most important.

While we were there, we found out that some of the refugees brought a movie projector with them and that the camp is going to start showing a film every week or so. They did this to help establish more of that normalcy feel, which is helpful now because the camp is a big zoo. So, Zoe, Zeke, and I went to enjoy some distraction from not having many exciting things to do. They showed JAWS, which I hadn't seen before, but of course my little brother had :P The movie was shown in the community tent - which they also use to have meetings and such.

During the movie, I caught sight of Ian, and he saw me, so I waved, received a wave back. I talked to him a little after the movie finished, but nothing too much.

brotherly love

My mom got a letter from her brother Uzi today. He updated on the family's situation. My cousins Zamir and Zizi are still at home, doing okay, but no word on Lorenzo. This worries my mom because it's a worry for the whole MacKenzie family. Where is he, is he alive, he is in jail... no one knows. Uzi also updated on the situation in Zahrville. Some of their farming friends in the outskirts of the city have lost their businesses and their children have gone off to join the PFLZ or the ZPF. Uncle Uzi hopes that maybe one of these new recruits to the resistance movements might help the family find Lorenzo.

News from the family puts a smile on my mom's face, but I know that she's really lonely on the inside. I wish I could help her out, but I've never dealt with this before. Hopefully getting her cast off (which should happen this Wednesday) will help her bounce back.
