Zeynep's (mis)Adventures in Ruritania

arise, oh people, let us hear your voices... your voices of freedom.

we've been drowning for years and not known it

Well, we didn't get Ezra back until late last night, after my uncle pulled some strings to help get him out of jail earlier than scheduled.

Turns out, the Ruri's arrested him because of the PFLZ flag he's proudly wearing on his jacket. He always wears this jacket, which has always had this flag on it... and after 3 months, suddenly it's a problem. Please. This is such bullshit!

So, they threw him in jail for it and ripped the flag off his jacket. I'm sure we also had to fork over some money. Ugh.

I just don't understand how another government could support the Brn against the Zaharians. And so, this cycle of hatred toward our people continues even outside of Zaharia/"Brynania". Things like this happening, along with the recent bombing of my friend, just remind me how important it is that the PFLZ/ZPF are victorious. We need to be free and live in a place where we are the majority - don't we have that basic right as human beings?

This is all just so extremely depressing.

I hate this country so damned much.

Ezra, Zoe, and I went to the camp to pick up our food supplies, and on our way back, these Ruritarian officers stopped us. At first they chatted with us, but they quickly jumped into what they wanted. They asked Ezra to go with them, so he gave me and Zoe the food he was carrying, and then they handcuffed him and made him get into their car. By this time, I was freaking out, so I yelled/asked them where they were taking him, and they said there's a small detainment about 20 km north of here. Zoe broke down, dropped her bags and started crying. I thought I was dreaming because I couldn't believe what was happening. Why would they just take him without letting us know why.

Zoe and I ran home as best we could (the food was quite challenging between the two of us) and then I ran to find my dad at work. I told him what happened and he said he knew where the place that they took Ezra was located. He went back home immediately and drove out to the detainment centre.

I needed to get out of the house, as my mom almost passed out at hearing the news. Zoe's attending to her. I just can't handle the stress of her (we're still not on the best of terms) and what's happened to my brother all at once.

I should head back home now - although I doubt my dad's back. With or without Ezra even.
