I dreamt last night that my family and I were back in Duchovnyville and my sister was graduating from high school. As she stepped onto the platform to receive her diploma, the principal would not allow her to complete graduation as she didn't take one class that she needed. She stepped off the platform, crying and embarrassed, so we decided the next day to go to her high school and see exactly what the problem was. When we got to the school grounds, we saw that the building had completely changed. And once we got inside, we had difficulty locating the admissions office. Finally we found someone to help us look up Zoe's file. They started the search, but no file could be found. My mother and sister starting crying and my father got angry, so we were then escorted off school grounds. When we had reached our house, it was no longer there. I felt so lost.

two against one

Today was bi-weekly rations day. So off Ezra, Zoe, and I went to pick up our food stuffs. Usually I'm depressed while doing this task from the moment I step foot out of my house, but this time there was a little hope in my heart. Perhaps I'd get to see Ian who helped me with my defective grocery bag.

The camp is still a disaster zone. There's still a large line for registration, and with the continous flow of new refugees into the camp every day, the conditions grow more grim by the moment.

My brother and sister made a beeline to the supply tent, while I slowly looked around. I pretended to follow the two of them, trying to eye out if Ian was working. Sure enough, I located him, working at the registration desk area. He seemed quite occupied with answering questions from relocated Zaharians, so I didn't even bother attemping a conversation. Once I decided all of this, I finally made my way over to my siblings, who had reached the front of the food line. We gathered our materials and headed home.

Another day, I suppose.

Ezra teased me about the situation, which is his typical style and it really pissed me off. And then, of course, I had to explain to Zoe what had happened a few days ago at the market so that she'd get off my back about it. Ezra and Zoe get along so well, so it's easy for them to team up against me. I always side with Zeke since Zoe is quick-tempered with him, but he wasn't there to side with me, so I felt completely defenseless. I wasn't planning on stopping by the cafe tonight, but I needed to get away from the two of them. *sigh*
