arise, oh people, let us hear your voices... your voices of freedom.

When we stopped by the camp to pick up our food supplies this week, I saw Ian so I went to say hi. I noticed he was talking to another volunteer but I didn't think much of it. Once greetings were exchanged, Ian introduced me to the female he was chatting with.

"Hey Zeynep. Have you met Dana?" he asks.
"No, I haven't. Hi, I'm Zeynep," I say, nodding my head.
"Hi, I'm Dana, Ian's girlfriend," she says.
"She's from America," he just had to add.

My heart sank. What a disappointment. So, after I forced some small talk out, I made up an excuse as to why I had to jump out of the *lovely* conversation we were having. I'm not going to get worked up over this. It's just frustrating.
